My name is Park Services Specialist (PSS) Louie Ferris. I started my Florida Park Service (FPS) career in October of 2019 as a Park Ranger at Hillsborough River State Park. I learned a lot about the FPS in the 1st year and a half of my employment. In June of 2021, I was promoted to PSS. I currently oversee the day-to-day activities of Ybor City Museum State Park (YCMSP) and Fort Foster Historic Site. In my off time, I interpret Florida’s history by participating in Florida living history events and activities by personifying the cultural practices of native people. While here at YCMSP, you might see me out in the garden working on maintenance projects or in the museum interpreting the extraordinary cultural resources we have here at YCMSP and in the Historic Ybor City District. I not only find my duties here at YCMSP to be enjoyable and fun, but I start every day looking forward to my day at “work”. Come in and say, “Hi”. We are always looking forward to sharing our stories.
