James 2.jpg

Hello. My name is James. I came to Florida from the shores of the Tennessee River in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, to become the self-proclaimed “World’s Best Campfire Guitarist.” This is when I found the Florida Park Service (FPS). I started with the FPS as a volunteer in 2017 at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, then became a ranger in 2018 at Delnor Wiggins Pass State Park. In August of 2022, I became a ranger at Hillsborough River State Park, Fort Foster Historical Site, and Ybor City Museum State Park. While I am at the museum, I enjoy telling the stories of Ybor City and learning new ones. Seeing our guests connect the old ways and current times enriches my love of history and Ybor City. My favorite way to share the awesomeness of Ybor, is creating a personal connection between the area and our guests!
