Ybor City, Wednesday, April 4 -
Chinese Ambassador and Permanent Representative of
China's Mission to the United Nations, Wang Guangya,
visited the Ybor City Museum today to learn about Ybor
history, the mission of the Ybor City Museum State
Park, and the Ybor City Museum Society. The Ambassador
toured the Ferlita Bakery, the historic cigar worker's
casita, and the businesses along 19th Street. He stopped
into The Arnold Martinez Art Gallery, where the Tampa
artist was hard at work, before being treated to some
fresh Cafe Con Leche from neighboring business, Tre
Amici. The Museum Society's Assistant Director, Manny
Leto, spent about an hour touring the Ambassador and
his wife through the museum complex prior to his lunch
meeting with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Tampa
Bay.

The Ambassador was happy to pose for this photo with
school children from Lake Magdalene Elementary who
were also touring the Museum. |
