The Ybor City Museum Society celebrates the
achievements of those who have made lasting impact
on the National Historic Landmark District. Three
category of awards named for Ybor City legends,
Vicente Martinez Ybor (economic development),
Tony Pizzo (cultural history and heritage), and
Adela Gonzmart (entrepreneurship), are presented
each year.
The 2008 honorees include:
- Victoria & Tessie Giunta – Ybor
Award
- Marilyn L. Figueredo (posthumous) – Pizzo
Award
- Pete and Paul Guzzo – Adela
Gonzmart Award
Mistress of Ceremonies is Cloe Cabrera, The
Tampa Tribune

- Book signing with Jack Espinosa, author of Cuban
Bread Crumbs
- Music by Mark Switzer, classical guitar
- Silent auction
